How it worksspecial chrome paint for porsche

With the process of chrome plating, many companies in the processing industry as well as craft and production companies combine a process that requires a great deal of material, time and, above all, costs. This obsolete view contains the mental equality of chrome plating and electroplating.

To put it bluntly: This idea is outdated and therefore simply wrong!

We talked to the founder and company owner of Verchromen24, Uli Kuitkowski, and let us explain which new sensational ways Verchromen24 is going to do in order to chrome-plated workpieces with high-quality, fast and favorable quality.

Mr. Kuitkowski, what makes your company “Verchromen 24” different and what makes it so easy, good and cheap for customers to trust the concept of “Verchromen24”?

To put it in a sentence, we have replaced the previous processes of electrolysis and electroplating by chemical chromium plating. Chrome plating is a form of surface treatment. The key point in chromium plating is electrolysis. A similar path is taken by galvanizing. Electrolysis is a process in which different components of metal are separated and made conductive with electricity. Electroplating also uses the electrochemical separation of metallic objects with the aim of making them conductive as well. Both methods, however, rely on the raw material metal to be processed, also material and time-consuming.

That means that “Verchromen24” is capable of chrome plating even non-metallic objects?

Exactly. Here we have taken new, surprisingly easy ways. Because the difficult and expensive – and ultimately expensive for the customer – electrolysis is replaced by the process of chemical chromium plating. In the case of chemical chromium plating, it is no longer important whether an object is conductive or not, as is absolutely necessary in electrolysis or electroplating. For this reason, chrome plating is no longer restricted to metal as a basic material. That’s why we can also cover wood, plastic, stone or whatever material with chrome. We have even succeeded in chrome-plating glass and hard rubber. For this we use the process of chemical chromium plating.

How exactly do you do that – what happens at the chemical chrome plating?

The chemical chrome plating is done in three steps: First, the workpieces are cleaned. As with many other jobs, a thorough and good preparation of the workpieces to be chrome plated is essential. All impurities are carefully and thoroughly removed otherwise the final result will not have the desired mirror-smooth surface. Second, the material is treated in the kiln. Here, a primer is first applied, which is dried at high temperatures in the oven. Finally, the metallization takes place. This will be the piece to be chromed with a thin layer of gold or chrome  covered, as the customer wishes. I used to get annoyed that chromium plating is so difficult and worked long for a more effective solution. Now this solution is there – the times of high costs and difficult production of the chrome finish are finally a thing of the past.   Tell us a few things about yourself and your company.

With pleasure! I’ve been working in electroplating and metallization for several decades. In the last 10 years I have been intensively involved with the surface finishing sector. So I have specialized in developing and selling chrome plating systems for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the associated chrome components. Incidentally, I attach great importance to the fact that our trained personnel show the products to the customer and even after the purchase  the customer is still maintained by our professionals. We operate a network of suppliers, employees and producers in Italy, Germany and Spain. In this way, we – and ultimately also our customer – benefit from prevailing conditions throughout Europe. Our range of services with our devices for small and large companies covers all wishes. Even for companies that only produce small quantities or want to outsource their area, we provide our own partner network as an intermediary.

Mr Kuitkowski, if you had three wishes, which would be?

(Laughs) I hope you mean professionally …… The knowledge of chemical chromium plating is far too rare. So I hope that many more companies know about our solution. Secondly, I think it would be great if many customers get to know our range of services and thirdly – but last but not least – I will fulfill my heart’s desire and act with our knowledge at the industry fairs in the world to make chemical chrome plating popular.

Mr. Kuitkowski, thank you for the interview.
